Marky's Project

Axle's Brother "Marky" built this 30/31 Model-A coupe with the rear section cut off.
The body is chopped a severe 7" and is channeled over the frame approx. a foot.
The frame is a boxed Model-A with holes drilled out of it for weight.
The front rims are early 60's 15" American 12 spoke spindle mounts. The
rear rims are American 5 spoke polished torque thrust's on white wall slicks.

Her engine is a piece of history. It was originally used in a short wheel based dragster with a modified 29 roadster body on top of it. In 1959,60,and 61 it held the blown on gas record for the fastest times at riverside drag strip with a mile per hour of 149 !!!!!!

Marky found this engine in northern California and rebuilt everything inside and out.The engine started life out as a 316 cubic inch 1956 Pontiac . She has ported and polished 1957 Pontiac heads. it has first production Micky Thompson aluminum rods, Stroker crank, forged pistons solid liftcam, roller timing chain,4" bore, a 671 Wiend blower and intake with 8 97 Stromberg carbs. together, this mixture will create somewhere in the vicinity of 650-700 horse power and roughly 450 cubic inches!

The transmission is a 55 olds slant pan that B&M hydro built years ago.
the rear end is a 55 Pontiac.
