Story and Fotos by Moldy Marvin

This 1936 Ford Kustom Pick Up built by Aaron Valencia of Lancaster California.

Not your typical Hot Rod either. This truck is a One of a Kind Kustom; yep this is a kick butt little hot rod truck, runs streight, fast and Loud!

Aaron made the 400 mile trip up to Paso to Dιbut this ride... Noooo problem. She runs great on the freway @ 80mph, temp runs about 180-190 no matter what. The truck has a real low down mean look and is a real head turner. A very comfortable ride that won’t kill ya after 4 hrs of driving.

Drive Train:
The mill is a Chevy 350 with an new rebuildt TH350 trans. Her mill starts right up and runs great!. Has minor leak from front seal on oil pan. New drive shaft with 10 bolt Chevy rear end.
The mill is adorned with Offenhauser intake, 3 bolt 6 carb set up with 2” conversion risers for the 4 bolt Rochester carbs. Motor runs on the 2 center carbs, freshly rebuildt linkage is only for the center two but to make the progressive for the outer 4 would be a snap.

.
Frame: Kustom built frame with 10” step in back aid suicide perch, everything is brazed and boxed. Real solid and safe.

Suspension: Front: Suicide Perch with new reversed eye spring. New 3” drop tube axel with 54 Chevy, Split wishbone, all new drag links and hardware. The Rear Suspension: Kustom two link set up with coil springs placed in front of axle which makes for a pretty smooth ride.
This car runs and drives great!

Body:1936 Ford truck, was a desert truck not one bit of rust. All original steel no new patch work, 5” chop; roof was stretched and hammered with very little filler.
No leaning of the post. Back window was cut 3” from the center and 2” from under the window to make fro a nice proportional window. Front window crank works great, cooling vent works and still has the bug screen in the vent. 4” channel over frame makes for lots of leg and head room. Bed is late 40’s with 23” cut from the side and a 9” cut from the center, No Tail gate.<

Other stuff: Exhaust is hand made and sounds great! Glass both front and rear is real automotive glass no side windows however the hardware and cranks are there. Seats are some vintage aircraft, new 11 gallon aluminum gas tank. Tires are brand new G-78 14’s Denman, 34 truck grill with fresh 3 core Walker Radiator, Steering is reversed 55 Ford box, Electric is all new, Gauges 3 Classic Autometer 2 5/8 mechanical, 50 Pontiac style tail lights, No turn signals. All lights work great!all new grade 8 hardware has been used to build this rod.
