A Vintage Hot Rod at best!

The story goes that this 1936 Ford Roadster was originally built by someone who worked for George Barris but we can only take that for a rumor. What we do know for sure by the past owners that it was built sometime in the late 1950’s or early 60’s somewhere in Los Angeles.

The car was stored for many years in a garage and was purchased recently by someone in  who got the vehicle running and then again was sold back to a gentleman in Los Angles who was going to have Aaron rebuild the vehicle. At the time Aaron was building a real nice 30’s sedan and even though the 36 was in complete disarrayhe saw a lot of potential in this vehicle, so after some wheeling and dealing Aaron ended up with the car.

Aaron has done some extensive work updating the technology on this ride by reworking the framework by stepping it so the channel looked right, he straightened out the body and reinforced anything that needed to be done; he also replaced a lot of the running gear and other things in order to make the car solid, comfortable to drive and street safe.

Now one thing is after scrutinizing this ride we don’t actually think that it was originally a roadster but possibly a 3 window coupe that had its roof removed. We believe that the Body was originally sectioned approx. 2”-3” and the new channel that Aaron did is 3”. The body itself is in excellent shape and is very straight.

Aaron rebuildt the trunk area so it is functional. The trunk floor can be removed for access to the rear suspension. There is a 10 gal. Gas tank in the rear and is accessible from the trunk.

The front half of the frame is original. From the firewall back is all new construction by Aaron made of buxom 2x3”x 3/16” wall square tubing and is very solid.

The Suspension: The front has a new super bell 4” drop axle, new springs, shackles, the perch is new and so is the steering arm along with all the rest. The rear has coil springs. All brakes are new (manual juice). The car rides real nice like an old hot rod but don’t expect something cushy like you would get with a billet street rod.

The Chevy 350 in this ride has been freshly rebuildt, runs extremely smooth and is very fast! The engine is adorned with a tri power set up but the center carb is the only one running and to tell ya the truth that’s all ya need cuz this little hot rod will burn rubber all day and has all the power that ya could ask for.

She runs very cool and has a freshly rebuildt radiator and runs at a constant 160 – 170 degrees.

The Transmission is a Chevy 350 linked up with a new drive shaft to a Ford 9” rear end. The Trans cooler is remote under the frame on the passenger side. The exhaust are hand made and have motorcycle baffles inserted so she’s not too loud but will still wake up your neighbors.

The interior is new, off white and reddish maroon, the soft removable top was hand built by Aaron, it’s very sturdy and un bolts easily with 5 bolts and was upholstered by a professional. Color is off white with reddish maroon piping.

Body Color Satin Black (not primer). Red Maroon accents through the color scheme to include the wheels, engine and grill.

All Lights Work Oil pressure and Temp Gauge Work (newer type) Electronic Fuel pump in rear of car. Steering Box 50’s Ford (little play but solid)
