1946 Ford Coupe Special Deluxe

What you all have been waiting for, another one from Hellbound Hot Rods

So there she sat in a local wrecking yard, a 1946 Ford Special Deluxe and she was for sale, on consignment!

For the past couple of years every time the crew at Hellbound Hot Rods would visit, this girl would catch their eye.

She was so amazing too, her top was untouched but her 51 grill was special and under the hood was a fully built flattie, and she had some filler on her deck lid, thus showing all the tell tail signs that this girl had been worked on before! Whoever and whenever the work was done is unknown but whenever and whoever did this work, was done, a long time ago!

The boys at Hellbound knew they had a good find in this girl and she still had a lot of potential, so after couple of years of negotiating the 46 became the new shop project!

When they got her home they checked out her mill.  The original flathead was built, early speed equipment had been installed, and she ran! The only thing was that her mill needed to be restored and the boys wanted a driver, so the flattie came out and a 350/350 combo went in.

With this lady’s mill and her ‘51 kustom grill, she has got to have some history, and if not, then she should make history soon.  Why? Because the boys at Hellbound Hot Rods have taken her to the next level.  The beauty of this story is that no longer does this car sit, she is ready for someone out there to enjoy for many years to come!

Check it out!

Her Features:

The Body: This is an All Steel 1946 Ford Coupe Special Deluxe with an amazing 6” chop by Hellbound Hot Rods. The slanted “B” pillars and the laid down rear window make this car a genuine sought after Kustom! The front grill is that of a 1951 Ford truck that had been done many years ago.

The skirts are new, all steel, and were fabricated by Hellbound Hot Rods along with the 1964 Corvette Frenched tail lights in the rear.

The body is in great shape but does have some minor dings and some small dents.  There are also some very small, but minor, rust holes in the body but they’re very hard to find. She has no major damage and the car looks great as is! The Body sits on the original chassis.

Paint: DuPont base coat over primer (no clear) allowing her new owner the ease of repainting her any color they wish!

Current Color: DuPont Cranberry base with no clear.

The Suspension: Mustang II front end with new brakes and rotors drilled to match rear end bolt pattern, 5 x 4.5. She has power Rack and Pinion steering which has been looped and sealed for smooth operation. This system can also be powered easily by hooking up a power pump on the motor, if desired.

The 8” rear end is from a 1967 Ford Fairlane with approx. 275 gears, good for the highway and can still lay down some rubber! Two link rear with panard bars and 2600 rated airbags for  plenty of lift making for a  great ride.

Body UP!

Body Down!

The airbags are activated by a high performance compressor with a built in fan that runs pretty quietly for cooling.

Tires: 205 75 14” all around the front has portawalls along with Original (not aftermarket) Lancer Hub Caps.

The Mill& Trans: Chevy 350 / 350 combo originally came out of a 1970 RS Camaro and runs good and strong! Edlebrock intake with a 600 carb., finned valve covers. The block hugger headers are hooked up directly to the lake pipes and sound great, loud but not so loud as to upset the neighbors. The radiator is brand new and the engine runs real cool.

The Interior: Is brand spanking new!

Rolls and pleats done in a beautiful white vinyl.

Pretty darned comfortable too!

Other Stuff:

Working Guages; Water Temp, Volts, Oil, and Fuel.

The Speedo Works but is not hooked up.

All Lights Work

Stuff it doesn’t have:
